Preservation Through Dedication

Our Chief Community Members

Amanda Luke, Founding Community Member

Amanda has long been drawn to cemeteries. In the early days of Find A Grave, Amanda would volunteer her time connecting site members with cemetery plots and would upload images of stones to the database. She cleans headstones because she feels a deep connection to the past and enjoys the meditative nature of the work.

Kiah Mott-Wright, Founding Community Member

Kiah received a certificate in Archaeology in Practice from Oxford University’s Continuing Education Department in 2022. Cleaning headstones is a way for Kiah to connect directly with people of the past while working in materials conservation. She has a particular interest in headstone iconography and epitaphs.

Tiffany Mims, Advisor

Tiffany facilitates and assists in cleaning efforts of historic headstones within cemetery grounds and acts as our educator and liaison, offering community members insightful information about the occupant of the plot whose stone we are working to clean.
